History

There used to be Square Dancing in Sooke, but that stopped a while ago.

In 2019 the Sooke Region Volunteer Centre initiated a 10-week session intended mainly for Seniors at the Sooke Dance Studio. Most dancers wished to continue, and in January 2020 we were dancing upstairs at the Legion.

Midway through 2020 everything shut down…

In September 2022 we re-started, again at the Legion. By December, though, the numbers were down and we decided we needed to recruit more members.

With a flurry of posters around town, notices on Facebook, a nice article in the Sooke Mirror (thanks, guys!) and an ad in that paper we were ready to start again, and on 10th January 2023 we did!
